News of the strange: hairless, unknown animal found in China

LOL. Strange discovery today. An animal of a type no one's ever seen and so weird we have to do DNA tests on it. Is it a cryptid? Last September I wrote, "Creeped out by Cryptids; Are monsters among us?" and I urge you to read the rest of that entry after reading the UK Telegraph's story about this little guy in China...

Oriental Yeti discovered in China
The hairless beast was trapped by hunters in Sichuan province after locals reported spotting what they thought was a bear.

"Hunter Lu Chin explained: "It looks a bit like a bear but it doesn't have any fur and it has a tail like a kangaroo." It also does not sound like a bear - it has a voice more like a cat and it is calling all the time - perhaps it is looking for the rest of its kind or maybe it's the last one? There are local legends of a bear that used to be a man and some people think that's what we caught," he added. Local animal experts now plan to shipped the mystery beast to scientists in Beijing who will perform DNA tests on the beast."

I wrote then of cryptids: "So, monsters and the end time. What have they to do with each other? Jesus answered the disciples' query as to the signs of the end with what is known as the Olivet Discourse, a talk with the disciples on the Mount of Olives. Jesus used the word "deceive" many times, to indicate an end-time atmosphere of deception riddled with false christs and false prophets, lies upon lies and false wonders and signs to back up the lies.

In addition to deception, people have power to deceive through lying signs and wonders. This is consistent with the regular people in the Old and New Testaments. Pharaoh's magicians could perform lying miracles, they turned their staffs into snakes in front of Moses. Acts 8:9 talks of a magician named Simon who was practicing magic in the city and bewitching the people of Samaria. In the time to come, the false prophets of the tribulation and the antichrist will also perform lying signs and wonders to deceive even the very elect, if that were possible. 2 Thessalonians talks about the deceptions of the antichrist and how strong they will be and how pervasively they will penetrate. But that is a time to come. How do we get from here and now to then?

Gradually. Like creeping apostasy, preparing the secular world to accept supernatural events takes time. It is a gradual creep that builds, like an evil symphony dementedly moving toward the crescendo."

  1. This must be a joke. stop fabulating about end of the world related to little hairless creatures found in china. They are completely unrelated and people like you give religion a bad name. No wonder the world`s full of crap. There have been signs of the apocalypse since before even christ was born, and 2000 years later we are still here. Start living the REAL life and study the bible from a more metaphorical and principle-based perspective.

Keep your chin up!! We need the watchmen. Many are blind and some are sent to discourage. You know who they are. Keep praying, keep praising, keep looking up. You're on the right road.

  3. Thank you for commenting but I beg to differ with your assertion that looking forward to the return of Jesus is something that is not biblical or desired.

First, as to the comment that 'There have been signs of the apocalypse since before even christ was born, and 2000 years later we are still here, you might be chagrined to know that Jesus said you'd say that. "They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation."" (2 Peter 3:4).

Second, as to your assertion that we need a 'real' life, that is precisely what we are doing....but IF by 'real' life you say we should live is conforming to it and looking only to jobs, routine, buying things, etc. then that would be wrong. The bible says "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." -1st John 2:15. Living life, a full, biblical, Christian life means that we know this world is not our home and this time on earth is short while eternity is long. We have the long view so to speak and the view we have of the world to come is very real, not metaphoric.

Last, as to your comment that we should live more biblically principled lives, we are and we try every day. One-fourth of the bible is prophecy. You cannot ignore it and live the biblical life. Also, the bible is not only metaphor, if it was, then it's a useless guide to living from the lips of the Living God. No, the principles I adhere to are not metaphoric but solidly based in the truth of the bible.
