"Why has mother nature gone bonkers?" FoxNews asks

Yesterday I wrote an essay about when God decides to 'ruin' a country because of sin. He often uses weather judgments. One example of this is in Isaiah 29:6 - "From the LORD of hosts you will be punished with thunder and earthquake and loud noise, With whirlwind and tempest and the flame of a consuming fire." And of course He withholds the rain (James 5:17) and he sends the rain (James 5:18). And who can forget the flood.

His judgments for sin, sometimes by the vehicle of weather, come all at once or they come slow but sure, but they come. I am looking at today's headlines about the trouble in the UK due to their cold weather. Here in America we are reading about the same thing. Our cold woes and blizzards are having untold effects but it's even worse in the UK. (Photo of Atlanta, source and credit: Vino Wong AJC)

In the UK their snow and cold is persisting beyond anything they have experienced in decades, if ever. Elderly 'pensioners' find that burning books is cheaper than burning coal. The nation is running low on gas heating fuel. They ran out of "grit," their term for road sand. Crops are dying and deliveries cannot be made. It is chaos.

In my opinion, one of the ways that God makes Himself manifest is to do things out of the ordinary that would be hard to explain, but not impossible. These unusual events are occurring and will occur in increasing tempo until the Tribulation, when by then it will be obvious that the events have no natural explanation, such as the sun going dark and the 100 pound hailstones raining on men's heads. Headlines today contain the phrases "unusual weather", or "unprecedented" or "never before..."

Yet man is today still attempting to explain these weather events in his own strength. In this article, titled "Why has Mother Nature gone bonkers?" author Jeremy Kaplan at Fox News asks, writing  "With record snowfalls in China and freezing cold blanketing the U.S., this winter has been a doozy for half the planet! Yet the other half is enduring unseasonable heat. What's going on?" In his article - which I recommend because it has a great summary of the globally strange weather of the last two weeks - it is stated, "Guo Hu, the head of the Beijing Meteorological Bureau, linked these conditions to unusual atmospheric patterns caused by global warming. "In the context of global warming, extreme atmospheric flows are causing extreme climate incidents to appear more frequently, such as the summer's rainstorms and last year's ice storm disaster in southern China," he told Beijing News."

I see. Atmospheric conditions cause climate incidents. Wow, I never would have made that connection. Also, unusual atmospheric conditions cause unusual weather. But Who created the weather in the first place? Who controls it? And why is the weather going bonkers with regular patterns disrupted and unusual events occurring out of nowhere?

The article linked above and the articles excerpted below report unusual weather having a catastrophic effect on all aspects of society. Food production commerce, travel, and labor are all interrupted or ceased for the duration. It's like the picture of the cartoon car that keeps going but its wheels are springing off one by one. Society is springing apart and slowly grinding to a halt.

This Arctic blast is impacting 60% of the US, or 180 million people. It is not in isolated event nor is it a snap event, just one day of cold and then back to normal. It is persisting. What IS causing the weird weather? "and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven." Luke 21:11. Weather causes that. Not Mother Nature. It is the birth pangs of the end time.

As Jack Kelley said, "There are seven major prophetic signs of the Second Coming, and currently all of them are in some stage of fulfillment." Don't you want peace of mind amid the chaos? Jesus is that peace.

Ireland facing 'national emergency' over cold weather
Labour Transport Spokesperson Tommy Broughan said that with at least another week of sub-zero temperatures forecast, it is now time for the Government to recognise the seriousness of the situation and take appropriate action. ""This is the most prolonged cold period we have experienced for decades and cannot be simply dismissed as a cold snap...."

A million Scottish sheep at risk of freezing to death
Scottish farmers fear that up to a million sheep face being starved or frozen to death after being caught out on exposed hillsides. The National Farmers' Union in Scotland said about a third of the country's sheep were on hills and warned that many flocks were "on a real knife edge". After weeks of snow and sub-zero temperatures, conditions are expected to worsen this weekend, with the cold lasting for at least another week. The warning came as some dairy farmers had to dump milk and add it to their slurry after milk tankers were unable to reach them because local roads had become impassable.

Freezing UK weather causes new round of travel chaos
London: The harshest winter in decades on Thursday caused a new round of travel chaos in Britain with the thick layer of snow on ground turning to ice and forcing three million people to miss work, even as at least three persons died in cold-related mishaps across Europe.

UK is a snow go zone
Blizzards that yesterday crippled the North spread South overnight — and left most of the nation floundering in the white stuff.

Weather-related death toll rises to 22 as Britain braces for coldest night yet
The death toll from Britain’s biggest freeze for decades reached 22 today as the country prepared for its coldest night so far, bringing the promise of even more treacherous conditions. Thousands of homes have been left without power, schools have closed and travellers have faced chaos as the weather hit roads, rail services and airports over the last two days. The disruption is estimated to have cost businesses around £700 million. (Photo, Scotland, Dom Bower)

Snowstorms Hinder Europe Transport, China Cuts Power
European transport was hindered by heavy snows while China curbed power use because of coal shortages. The U.K.’s longest cold snap since 1981 persisted as temperatures fell as low as minus 18 degrees Celsius (0 Fahrenheit) in Benson. Thousands of schools were closed for a second day as air, rail and road travelers faced delays or cancellations. Eurostar Group Ltd. said a train carrying 236 people broke down today in the Channel Tunnel between Britain and France, two weeks after a series of failures crippled the company’s locomotives and left more than 40,000 passengers stranded.
