Truth in photos: Church Curmudgeon, Haaretz terrorism map, winnowing photo, prepare

Some truths in pictures today.

The Lord will return to thresh, winnow, separate, and burn the chaff... Here is an actual photo from Palestine from the 1890s of the process. The oxen, yoked equally or else they would not pull in unison, drag the sledge. The sledge pulverizes the wheat stalk, separating the wheat from the outer husk. This is called threshing. The action takes place on a circular threshing floor. Then the men take a winnowing fork and pitch the ground-up chunks into the air, and the wind blows the chaff away. The wheat grains fall back to the ground. Repeat.

His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire. (Matthew 3:12)

The Lord is returning soon. Prepare. You will need more than milk and bread.

Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:14b-15)

  1. Elizabeth,

Love the first and last "truth in pictures"! The last one made me think of this verse:

    Matthew 16
2 But He [Jesus] replied to them, "When it is evening, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.' 3 "And in the morning, 'There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.' Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times?
